Support & Advice - Coping after a Traumatic Event
It is important to realise that it is perfectly normal if you feel distressed or have had an emotional reaction to witnessing or being part of a traumatic event. Everyone reacts differently. In the first few days, it’s essential to nurture yourself, talk about it if you want to, engage with everyday life and focus on other things.
If you are still experiencing difficulties after three to four weeks, you may wish to seek help or support.
